About Dr. AldenI’m Dr. Michelle Alden and I can't wait to meet you because if you are parenting a challenging child then you are my people! I applaud you for continuing to look for help. I know how hard it is—especially when you wonder if you are the crazy one because nothing you try is working. I get the craziness in ways other professionals don’t and I will not downplay or discredit what you describe because I’ve probably seen it 100 times over in my house or in the homes of the parents I work with.
I’ve studied the brain science and I know what works and have helped lots of families move beyond crazy behavior to experience less stress and more connectedness with their challenging child. I will help you to understand what is driving their behaviors but even better, I’ll explain step-by-step what you can do about it. Join me in The Playroom to learn how to start re-training their brain for a better future for them and less stress for you. |
What Others are Saying About Working with Michelle
We've been having good results every since I did what you suggested. Nothing but improvements since then. Everyone is a lot more calm and happier. I've been really happy to see improvements so far.

I have not seen anything like this especially for adoptive parents. Michelle is transparent, knowledgeable and has walked the road we are on.
|
Having goals generally meant hoping to avoid a meltdown or tantrum. The idea that children let the adults be in charge, the children completing chores or schoolwork seemed so far-fetched at first. Now it seems possible.
|
The support and tools, the structure and the help to “be in charge” work!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I know if I need the Playroom or the 12-week intensive HF Family Program?
Parents will sometimes join the Playroom before deciding whether they want individual one-on-one help. It is a cheaper option than the intensive 12-week program. However, if you are experiencing safety issues (aggression, violence, etc.) then we definitely recommend the intensive program. Safety must be established first before changes can happen in the home.
Can anyone join the Playroom?
Yes, any parent that would like support or the community with other parents is welcome to join--whether you've worked with Michelle in the past or have just recently found us.
Do I have to attend each weekly Playroom session?
No. While it is encouraged and you have paid for access to every session, there is no obligation to attend. They are always recorded so you can catch the replay as well.
Will insurance pay for the Playroom?
No. This is a private-pay opportunity for those that want it.
How do I access the Playroom?
Everything you need to log-in to the weekly video calls, submit your questions, or to watch a past session, is all located on one easy-to-install app on your phone, desktop, tablet, etc. You have access to the app when you sign up and as long as your monthly membership is current.
